No Sun No Boat

December 27th, 2006 § 6

Do you know that my dear Haney could remember her regular route to and fro from Nenek’s and our home?

Thanks to the every weekday’s chauffeuring session to Nenek’s House, she got familiarized with certain symbols and traffic road signs. On weekends if we need to pass by any of the road junction that lead to Nenek’s home, she would say,”Mama, Don’t want go Nenek’s House! Nak go see lights!”

Ok. Ok. Ok.
Regular Routine and that’s how she picked up the route.
..
..
..

So this morning, she said to me,”Mama, nak see boat! Tak Nak Go Nenek’s House!”

Errr. WHAT? BOAT? I’m working dear. Pagi-Pagi, Nak See Boat?

Early in the morning with gloomy weather and my eyes still half open, the mama had to crack her brain out. First I said,”Mama Work! Cannot go see boat! We go Nenek’s House first!”

I can’t promise her tomorrow or else she’ll be asking me to see boat tomorrow! Well, she’s great at remembering things nowadays.

Think Hard! Think Hard! #Haiz pagi-pagi brain belum function la! Plus pregnant woman brain are getting more slower to start up plus the major forgetfulness.

“Nak see boat la! Mama!” she asked again.

I scratched my head real hard while looking out at the window. Someone help me!

“Ah, you see it’s raining, it’s cold! Boat Sleep!” mama answered.

“No Rain la Mama!” she pointed at the car’s window cos the rain had just stopped!

Alamak! Errrrr.

“No, it’s still raining. You see the water on the window. It’s cold!” mama explained.

She looked at me, staring in disbelief perhaps and trying to understand.

“You see there’s no sunshine! Boat sleep when it’s cold!” mama trying to look convincing! Hahahah! You see my little Haney can spot if it’s not real. No more lying around, she can understand it.

A silent pause!

“Ahh No sunshine! No Boat! Boat Sleep!” suddenly she smiled with happiness.

Finally! We reached Nenek’s House and I remembered the Mr Sun Song by Barney.

“Let’s call Mr Sun out! Then we can see boat ok!” Mama asked.

“Ok! Hello Mr Sunshine! Good Morning!” She said.

Then we sang together while walking up the stairs to Nenek’s house!

SELAMATZ AMIN!

At this age, you just got to be extra smart when handling her inquisitiveness but then sometimes I gave up too when I don’t have the answers.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ok Nevermind. Let’s just sing the song!

Oh Mr. Sun. Sun. Mr. golden sun. Please shine down on me.
Oh Mr. Sun. Sun. Mr. golden sun. Hiding behind a tree.
These little children are asking you. To please come out so we can play with you.
Oh Mr. Sun. Sun. Mr. golden sun. Please shine down on me.

Oh Mr. Sun. Sun. Mr. golden sun. Please shine down on me.
Oh Mr. Sun. Sun. Mr. golden sun. Hiding behind a tree.
These little children are asking you. To please come out so we can play with you.
Oh Mr. Sun. Sun. Mr. golden sun. Please shine down on, please shine down on,
Please shine down on me!

Imaginative Emotional 28 Months

December 26th, 2006 § 5

At 28, physically she’s great at her motor skills from fixing Shape Sorrter toys to building Cinderella Tower and toppling them down like a massive hurricane. She can put and pulls her shoes like a pro, reading books and turning pages on her own is now her current favourite list.

At 28, she’s very imaginative. As you know, she currently sleeps in a tent which she called a house. She imagined the leftover cardboard roll from the kitchen towel as a telescope and she used it to search for animals in the forest. Next while bathing in the tub, she used the spade as a rowing boat while singing Row Row Your Boat. Anything that sweet and beautiful with cute frills and lovely shoes, she will always imagine herself as a princess or a ballerina. She can also imagine that the square blocks as a real camera clicking her way like a photographer.

At 28, dinner outside is currently adaptable. Of course, it’s a must for her to have her own spoon, fork and plate. She loves chicken rice and soupy noodles like Yong Tao Fu. She eats better with a spoon and as fork, poking is ezy pezy but slippery noodles, it really tough.

At 28, she’s slowly developing the ability to control her actions and emotions. She still does the pushing, yelling and tantrums but minimalist. It bound to happen more when we never explained to her the reason why she can’t do that or force her to get out of the place instantaneous or when she asked to wash her hands after a meal at a food court, make sure you do it.

Otherwise when she just ignoring you, she just want to have some monkey fun or asking for attention. That’s all.

Usually, we just keep the rules reasonable, clear, and consistent and patient while she learns to follow them. Plus lots of gentle reminders for her too; Berbuih kadang mulut nie!

Sometimes I get very agitated with her, I will scream till my lungs almost came out. Hehehhe. Other times when she gets a bad scolding from her dear papa, she will show us her pout face and then walk away to her room to express her sadness!

Who said girls are not little rascal. She’s a very EMO GAL!

Ok at least I can still scare her away with the vacuum cleaner. She will reply,” Tak mo la mama! Put back! Put back!”

That’s her at 28. Emotional, Expressive, bubbly babbly Haney!
